Q. Is your furniture in stock, or do I have to wait while you order it?
A. McMinn's is a furniture STORE, not a furniture showroom. If you see an item on our showroom floor, you can take it home today or we can arrange to deliver it. For more information, go to our In Stock Now page.
Q. Do you deliver? How far? How much does it cost?
A. The short answer is yes, as far as 150 miles, and that depends. For more details, click the Delivery & Pickup link in the main menu of any page on the website.
Q. Can I pick up my furniture? What's the procedure? Does it cost anything?
A. Yes, you can pick up your furniture rather than having it delivered. Please make arrangements and follow the instructions about picking up found on the Delivery & Pickup link on the main menu of any page. And no, unlike many of the other stores in the area, we never charge you when you do the work!
Q. Do you have a service department? Can you fix furniture I didn't buy from you?
A. We do have a service department, and also a group of reliable contractors that help us out when he job is too big for us. We only work on furniture that we have sold, as we are trained to service those brands. We'll be happy to refer you to a local contractor that can handle service on furniture you've bought elsewhere, or you can contact the store where you bought the item for further help.
Q. Do you charge a re-stocking fee if I don't like what I purchased?
A. We want to be reasonable with all our customers. So, if the items involved came from our stock, then no, we would not ask for a restocking fee. The only exception is if we special order an item for you that we don't normally stock. In that case, since we would have to add a non-stocking item to our stock, we would require a 15% restocking fee.
Q. Do you special order? How long will it take to get my special order furniture?
A. We'll be happy to special order. Many of the items we stock come in other fabric/color combinations and other finishes. And you may simply like a piece out of a particular collection that we don't normally keep in stock. Answering how long depends on several variables. Depending on the item, delivery to us can be from 2 weeks to over 12 weeks. We'll do our best to give you a reasonable estimate of the time any order will take, and we'll keep you up to date as we get information along the way.
Q. What is a Hot Buy?
A. Sometimes our buyers make mistakes! That beautiful sofa, that perfect chair, the bedroom in that awesome new finish sometimes isn't as great as we thought. From time to time our manufacturers discontinue an item due to some part or the other no longer being available. Or, we may have an item with a little scratch or dent. All those situations mean we no longer need that item in our inventory, so we give our customers an incentive to take it home. We re-tag it as a Hot Buy with a big markdown, sell it as-is, and we have a win-win for everyone!
Q. What if I don't like a Hot Buy I purchased?
A. Because of the steep markdowns we place on these items, we have to sell them on an all sales final, no-returns and no warranty basis. We want to be reasonable, but those are the purchase terms, so we ask that you think carefully to be sure the item is correct for your home. When you do that, it's a win-win situation for us all. You get a great buy on a nice piece of furniture, and we clear that item from stock to make room for something else.
